I have been reading about the new CCTA National Account Tire Program with Michelin and Goodyear for about a month now, so I decided to see how much our company could save and how easy is ordering tires through the two programs.
We have been using Goodyear and Michelin tires on our 3-axle tractors for the past 15 years. We used to shop around to get the best pricing with the new tire program offered by the association it is by far the best tire pricing available for smaller fleets like ours (30-trucks).
The program now eliminates the need to shop around for tire prices. No matter which tire dealer you use, the pricing is the same low price. This program is especially beneficial if you are working far from your home base.
You can call up any local tire shop that sells these two tire brands and you will get the great price. The process is very simple:
- Call the CCTA office and let them know what tire(s) you are looking for.
- Give them the credit card/debit card (they will also accept a cashier’s check or even a cleared check) and all the information you wish to use for the purchase.
- CCTA staff will issue a Purchase Order (PO) number to your tire dealer to finalize order.
- If you are at the tire shop while placing your order, you can pick-up on the spot once a PO has been issued to the tire representative, otherwise, CCTA staff will notify you when your order is ready for pick-up.
The only caveat is that you must have a credit card/debit card (or cleared funds) to complete the purchase.
